Suspects facing multiple charges after failed carjacking in King

nvestigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit have laid multiple charges against three men after a failed carjacking in the Township of King. On Jan. 9, at 8:22 p.m., police responded to an attempted carjacking in the area of King Road and Highway 27. The victim was travelling on King Road when their vehicle was rear ended by the suspect vehicle. As the victim exited, two suspects approached wearing face coverings and at least one was armed with a firearm.

King maintains top water quality in villages

King’s water quality meets, even exceeds government standards. Staff presented the 2024 Water Annual Summary Report to councillors recently, outlining the service and quality in local towns and villages. Staff noted the Township of King consistently provides safe drinking water to residents, businesses, and visitors through the Ansnorveldt, King City, Nobleton, and Schomberg municipal water distribution systems.

We should celebrate our very existence

I have a good story to tell. It’s not just my story. It may not be impressive, but it’s like many others out there – all of us in fact. Experts estimate that the odds of my (our) existence today is roughly one in 400 quadrillion. Yes, that’s a huge number – approximately the volume in cubic metres of the Atlantic Ocean. A Buddhist version of our existence notes that if there was just one life preserver floating around the ocean and only one turtle in the water, our odds would be the same as that turtle sticking its head out in exactly the centre of that preserver.
