It was a weekend to perhaps fall in love with a new pooch in King City.
Dog Tales, King City’s own one-of-a-kind dog and horse sanctuary located on 19th Sideroad, was the site of the first annual Dog Tales Festival, a chance for the public to have a meet-and-greet with some animals looking for a home.
The shelter takes in abused and neglected dogs, taking care of their medical needs. It is also home to over 30 horses that would otherwise be destined for slaughter.
Just weeks ago, the shelter saved 77 dogs from a high-kill shelter in Miami.
The festival was also host to live music and entertainment, food from local vendors, and shopping. Attendees were also invited to bring their own dog, and a lot took the opportunity.
Dog Tales is open every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for their “Open Adoption Sundays.”
