I see in the Globe that the gray jay is getting our nod to become our Canadian national bird. Nice choice!
Apparently Environment Minister Catherine McKenna has indicated that our national government favours this selection, says the Globe.
Among its several names this bird is known as the Canada Jay, which is the name I learned a couple of years ago. And its colour just seems right. A mostly gray bird for a country where colour matters not.
Nice to celebrate our new national bird in our sesquicentennial year.
