Everyone helped make Street Gallery a success

October 1, 2014   ·   0 Comments

We recently celebrated the sixth annual Schomberg Street Gallery along Main Street. We were fortunate that Mother Nature co-operated – the sun came out and so did the crowds. The street was filled with artists and art lovers for the entire day.
There was just as much co-operation from the community, and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped make this year’s art show the biggest and best yet.
Thanks go to the Schomberg Village Association and the Arts Society King for their sponsorship and support.
To the Lions club, for their twice sold out BBQ.
To King Township for cleaning Main Street just before the gallery and allowing us to close the street to vehicular traffic for the day of the gallery.
To the businesses, residents and visitors to Main Street for not parking on the street on Saturday night – allowing us and the artists to get set up on Sunday morning (and also for dealing with the road closure on Sunday so graciously). A special thanks to RONA, whose parking lot (as it turned out) was used by visitors.
To the many volunteers, who dedicated time and energy, both on the day of the gallery, and for months.
We thank the members of the Schomberg Presbyterian Church who had to use the Agricultural Fairgrounds for their parking as they attended Church on Sunday morning, and last but not least, to the artists and attendees. Without them, we wouldn’t have a show!
Thanks again to all, see you next year!
