Dr. Wameed Ateyah, a Schomberg family physician, now offers medical treatment at the King City walk-in clinic, adjacent to King City Guardian Pharmacy.
The clinic is currently open Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3-6 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to noon.
Dr. Ateyah said he can provide any typical medical treatment, including injections, immunizations, travel counselling, treatment for skin lesions, weight loss, etc. He can even help with stitches. If things progress, Dr. Ateyah is hoping to bring in group counselling services and a chiropractor.
The family physician has been practising since 1994 and has operated his practice in Schomberg since 2006.
He was looking at establishing such a clinic for the past couple of years, noting there seems to be a lack of services in King.
He enjoys working in this area and loves the people and families he deals with. For his patients who live in King City, it’s much more convenient for them to visit the clinic. Hours and services will be adjusted as demand increases.
The patients he sees run the gamut from young families to the elderly. All you need is a health card and you can stop by the clinic during its business hours.
He’s fully computerized and has access to medical records, information and test results. As an added bonus, with Guardian attached, prescriptions and advice from the on-duty pharmacist is only a few feet away.
