Community mourns loss of long-time editor and journalist Bill Rea

The Caledon community was shocked to learn about the sudden passing of veteran journalist, editor and resident Bill Rea. Rea, 60, passed away early Sunday morning at his home in Caledon, of an apparent heart attack.

King City brings home silver in OFSAA hockey finals

It was a banner year for the King City Secondary School Lions, who picked up a silver medal at last week’s A/AA boys OFSAA hockey championships. Candidates support new Oak Ridges Moraine park

The plan to create the East Humber Headwaters Park, located within the Oak Ridges Moraine in King, comes as good news to everyone. The area is bounded by the 15th Sideroad, King Road, Dufferin and Bathurst. The owners of some 208 hectares of land in this area are prepared to convey the King parcel to the Province, in exchange for lands in another municipality for development potential. Both provincial candidates in King-Vaughan praise the idea.

‘Sunshine list’ grows to include 18 King Township staffers

King Township paid 18 of its staffers more than $100,000 each in 2017. That’s five more employees than the total in 2016. The top wage-earners pulled in a total of roughly $3.14 million. The salaries and taxable benefits of employees in the Ontario Public Service and the broader public sector who were paid $100,000 or more in 2017 were released last week.
