King has taken a bold and “exciting” step by opting for a brand new municipal office and totally demolishing the existing structure on King Road.
The majority of King Township councillors are not swaying from their opposition to severances within established communities.
King is one step closer to having its own police station. At the annual Regional Chair’s Luncheon, hosted by the King Chamber of Commerce at The Manor in King City this past Monday, Regional Chair Wayne Emmerson, announced the Police Services Board had authorized a lease agreement be executed with the Township of King for office space for the new station.

King councillors are warming up to the idea of increasing densities in new residential development. After hearing from the Township’s consultants, who are leading the review of the Official Plan, councillors felt more at ease with the recommendations that densities in King be increased to seven units per hectare, particularly in expanding King City.
We are living in exciting times. There’s a new space race taking place across the globe, one that will engage the public as we move forward together into the final frontier.
While the Province has put the brakes on studies for the GTA West Corridor, King council voted to urge them to continue with the Environmental Assessment process.
Helping to shape an industry and an era in Canada’s entertainment industry was groundbreaking work. Those pioneers established a foundation that would set the stage for Canada becoming “Hollywood North.” Every new idea and innovation came from these men and women, who continue to impress movie-goers to this day.
King is promoting itself as a tourist destination and we’re just getting used to singing our praises. Fortunately, others are doing the same, but for different reasons. Toronto’s Majid Jordan released their first full-length, self-titled record. And there’s one with a very family title – “King City.”
Our entire history is built on telling stories. A King native makes his living at telling tales and has received some recognition from his peers.
