Praise abounds for retiring councillor Linda Pabst
The first meeting in King’s brand new council chambers was bitter sweet. Councillor Linda Pabst, who spent the last quarter-century serving constituents in King, patriciated in her last council meeting. She helped dedicate the new building and colleagues shared kind words on her career, as she’s poised to retire. Mayor Steve Pellegrini noted Pabst ,has served the community as a councillor for 24 years.
Food Bank’s newest board member leads by example
The board of King Township Food Bank is pleased to announce that Meline Beach has assumed the position of secretary. A marketing communications and public relations professional, she is ideally suited to meeting the present needs of the Food Bank. In addition, she likes to lead by example, and walks the walk. Beach really enjoys the “fun” in fundraising, having coordinated the last two Sip & Savour galas, the Food Bank’s major annual fundraiser.
Rebellion peewee AE champions in wine country
King Township’s very-own peewee AE team competed in the annual Niagara on the Lake Harvest Fall Classic hockey tournament on Nov. 2-4.
Importance of family vital to King Fire and Emergency Services
There’s a large, close-knit family in King that numbers over 150 men, women, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters. They all share a passion for helping their communities, and risking their lives in the process. The family got together last week for an annual reunion, at the 2018 King Fire & Emergency Services Appreciation Dinner, held at Nobleton Lakes.
Muzzo denied parole
Marco Muzzo will have to wait another year before he applies for parole once more. The Parole Board denied Muzzo’s application for day and full parole last week, noting he hasn’t addressed his alcohol misuse.
