Cougars against the wall in PJHL first round playoffs

A late-game collapse spoiled what could have tied the series for the Schomberg Cougars against the Alliston Hornets on Friday. The Cougars now find themselves in a three-game hole in the first round of the Provincial Junior Hockey League playoffs.

No increase in King’s 2018 budget

King residents received a bit of a break on their residential tax bills, thanks to a zero increase in this year’s budget. King is the only municipality in York, and perhaps all of the GTA, to do this. King council approved the 2018 operating and capital budgets Monday, after staff worked diligently to whittle down a previously recommended 2% hike.

SIU investigating after King City crash

The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has been called to investigate a single-vehicle collision in King City. The unit was called in following the crash, which injured the 41-year-old female driver.
