King Township has sold its current municipal office and strip plaza for almost $11 million. Councillors approved the deal Monday night. Zancor Homes (King Cort) Ltd. will pay $10.75 million for the property at 2075 King Road in King City.

King council, sparked by a request from the King Township Historical Society, has agreed to provide matching funds, up to $25,000 for the project. The funds will come from the proceeds of the annual council golf tournament, which traditionally earmarks its funds to the Parks, Recreation and Culture department.

Plans to resurrect a gas bar in northern King came as good news to councillors recently. The public meeting revealed that the owner of the 1.81-acre property on Highway 11 is seeking a zoning bylaw amendment to permit a drive-thru car wash, service station and convenience store.
