Mackenzie Health lauds volunteers

April 22, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Please allow me to take the opportunity to thank and acknowledge Mackenzie Health volunteers from across King Township who generously donate their time and skills including volunteers from King City, Nobleton and beyond.
Mackenzie Health volunteers offer their assistance in virtually every department across our hospital from the Emergency Department to the Intensive Care Unit and from the Gift Shop to the Information Desk. Many volunteers also contribute at our community locations in Vaughan and Richmond Hill.
I am happy to report that over the past year, Mackenzie Health’s team of 1,000 volunteers has offered 94,500 hours of their time to help our staff and physicians to care for the people of our community.
This year Mackenzie Health proudly celebrated 50 years of caring for the people of our community. Over the years, the Mackenzie Health Volunteer Association has raised more than $5 million dollars for much needed equipment to provide the best care possible with the most advanced technologies available.
As we get closer to seeing shovels in the ground for the new Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital in 2015, our volunteers continue to build on our legacy of service and caring for the people of our community. When the new Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital opens in 2019, we look forward to further increasing the numbers of volunteers and range of volunteer opportunities to support Mackenzie Health patients and their families.
Thank you to the wonderful volunteers from King Township who offer their assistance to help us care for so many of our families, neighbours and friends. With your continued support and enthusiasm, Mackenzie Health is well on its way to creating a world-class health experience for the people of our community.
