The Stanley Cup is coming to King

July 9, 2013   ·   0 Comments

The Township of King would like to congratulate Daniel Carcillo and Mike Kitchen of the Chicago Blackhawks on winning the Stanley Cup.
Daniel will be bringing the Cup back to his home town of King City this Sunday, July 14, to celebrate with the community.
Mayor Steve Pellegrini was extremely proud of this home-grown hero and excited to see the cup coming to town.
“I am absolutely thrilled that one of our local boys is part of this amazing victory for a second time,” said Mayor Pellegrini. “Back in 2010 Nick Boynton brought the Stanley Cup to King and now Daniel Carcillo is bringing it home again.  Chicago Blackhawks Assistant Coach Mike Kitchen is also from Schomberg. King is definitely a hockey town and we look forward to celebrating this historic event.”
The celebration will take place at the King City Community Centre and Arena from noon to 3 p.m. The event will include a free BBQ and an opportunity to see the Stanley Cup and get a picture with Daniel.
