Special Olympians skate to the podium in North Bay

Chelsea Ricci-Martire and Connor Woolsey both returned to King with medals from the 2015 Special Olympics Ontario Winter Games in North Bay.

Chelsea Ricci-Martire and Connor Woolsey returned to King City with their necks a little heavy and their heads held high.
Both earned medals in the 2015 Special Olympics Ontario Winter Games, held in North Bay at the end of January.
While Ricci-Martire finished second in Elements and fifth in Freeskate Level 1 competition, she earned an overall ranking of fourth-place.
Woolsey placed first in both respective categories for Level 2 Men’s, earning a first overall position.
Woolsey has the chance to be selected for the national games next year, held in Newfoundland.
Both athletes placed first in regional in order to qualify for the Games, and were selected by their coach Brenda Ferreira.
