Slo-pitch and softball tourney is a cancer fundraiser

October 1, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Cancer can be a terrifying journey and no one should have to go at it alone.
The Pink Tree Foundation is hosting the 2nd Annual Slo-Pitch Softball Tournament
& Charity BBQ on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Nobleton Community Sports Park,
15 Old King Road (Highway 27 and King Road).
The first pitch for the Tournament will be at 8 a.m. and the BBQ will start at 12
p.m.
Teams who qualify on Saturday will advance to the next day Sunday finals. This
event will feature fun activities for children, including face painting, Pink Tree collection
products and lots and lots of food and fun.
The Pink Tree Foundation is on a mission to establish a cancer wellness centre
for individuals, families and friends affected by cancer, in York Region.
They are committed to providing a free and comfortable environment where peerbased
conversations will be held to support, inspire, uplift, empower, educate and
help those affected by cancer. A place where people can interact with others who
have walked in their footsteps, answer questions and provide comfort to help make
their journey a little less anxious and a little more tranquil.
This fundraiser will also help Pink Tree raise awareness and funds to advance
medical cancer research in support of the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
Everyone is invited to come!
