Schomberg Street Gallery show returns Sept. 14

These are some of the artists who will be participating in Schomberg’s renowned Street Gallery.

The Schomberg Street Gallery outdoor juried fine art and crafts show and sale will be taking place on Sunday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m..
Schomberg’s historic Main Street will be closed to traffic and tents will line the street, allowing visitors to meet the artists and mingle with other show-goers. The Community Hall and Periwinkle Gallery will also be open.
Visitors are encouraged to come for the Schomberg Street Gallery but be prepared to stay all day. Find a spot at one of the street-side cafés serving homemade goodies or order something from the Lions Club barbecue.
The event is free and is for art-lovers of all ages. There will be a wealth of talent to choose from and a variety of art – something for every home. The range of media includes oil, acrylic, watercolour, photography, wood, glass, metal, pottery, textiles and jewellery.

The future of the Nobleton Community Hall is still up in the air. Things will be a little quieter in three spots in King, thanks to a whistle cessation agreement between the Township and Metrolinx. King council okayed the bylaw to stop train whistling at crossings on Station Road, Dufferin Street and the 15th Sideroad.

King councillors want to keep next year’s budget affordable. While very early in the 2025 budget process, staff had asked for an increase of between 4 and 5%, but councillors rejected that.
