Local rivals skate to a draw

The Schomberg Red Wings LL tyke 2 team traveled to King City to visit Nobleking Knights LL 1 squad on Saturday and both teams skated their way to a riveting 7-7 tie.
Early on it seemed the Red Wings had the Knights’ number, as Schomberg scored their way to a 5-2 lead after the first period.
But the Knights skated hard and where unwilling to let the game get away from them, scoring two in the second to make it 5-4 and then three in the third period to knot up the score.
Christopher Stewart scored a whopping four goals for the Knights, while Michael Deangelis, Robert Torriero and Andrew McFarlane also scored for the Kings.
The Red Wings also got some strong offence, with Dawson Frank netting a hat trick, Justin Curuk scoring two and Jason Graham and Connor McMahon each adding a goal for Schomberg.
Making sure their team stayed in it right through, Max Zemp tended goal for the Knights, while Walker Bain backstopped the Red Wings in the tie game.
