November 12, 2013   ·   0 Comments

Students from Nobleton Karate participated at the Phoenix Martial Arts Tournament in Bolton recently and brought home some hardware.
The students all performed well at the Oct. 27 event and the school brought home several medals in their divisions.
“It’s nice to see that the kids have taken the challenge to do more and have the opportunity to test themselves against other schools. We are teaching them that setting goals and working hard results in achievement,” said Sensei Giancarlo Esposito.

“I was not nervous this time because it was my second tournament. I think I was successful because I tried my hardest, had faith in myself and hoped for the best. I really like karate because it teaches me self-defence, I get exercise and I am getting stronger.”
Alejandro Huard-Tordecillas also won first in kata. Although he was nervous he said: “I concentrated on my kata and practiced at home.”
Alejandro, who always rises to the occasion, added he likes karate because it is hard.
