Volunteers and residents in Kettleby are helping to mark Canada’s 146th birthday.
Gary Vogan, with the help of village volunteers, is staging the annual event at Kettleby park, which gets under way at 7 p.m. with a barbecue and socializing. Kids will kick around some soccer balls to keep themselves busy. At roughly 8:30 p.m., Councillor Debbie Schaefer will be on had to cut the birthday cake, free to all visitors. They will also pause to sing the national anthem.
A decent fireworks display gets under way at 9:45 p.m.
