A coublack bearple of families in rural King had a pair of unwelcomed visitors Sunday evening.
Liana Emili said the family was having dinner around 7 p.m. when they looked out the window and saw a black bear cub strolling through their back yard. They live on the 16th Sideroad near Highway 400. They opened the door and the cub walked away.
One of the Emilis neighbours said the mother bear was in their yard and another neighbour was worried because they have pets and other animals.
The Emilis called the Ministry of Natural Resources who said they don’t trap bears and simply offered some advice –make sure any food and small animals are kept inside!
A neighbour apparently called police but there was no mention whether they attended.
