Nobleton hosts Victoria Day festival

May 14, 2013   ·   0 Comments

Victoria Day will be here soon, and Nobleton is getting itself ready to celebrate the holiday.
The events will all take place Monday, May 20.
The day begins at 10 a.m. with the Lions’ Purina Dog Walk, where dog owners will make their way through the neighborhood and meet up to become part of the parade. The parade will make its way through the village along King Road and towards the community centre grounds with floats, marching bands, and teams of horses. The firefighting team will be taking a special place in the parade in honor of their service to the community.
The fair will feature a midway, bouncy castles, and rides, as well as an appearance by Orangeville’s own Powder Band to entertain visitors with rock and country music.
The food will be drawn from contributions from the surrounding businesses and churches and community, and will include cotton candy, fresh baked goods, funnel cakes, fries and pulled pork from the Knights of Columbus.
The vendors will be selling a plethora of goods including clothing, both local and imported, hats, sunglasses, jewelry and stoneware. Don’t miss the seasonal plants offered by the horticultural society, as well as face-painting for the little ones.
Finally, when the sun sets Nobleton Fire and Rescue will give the town the biggest fireworks display of the year.
It’s heralded as the largest private fireworks show in Ontario. The firefighters rely on donations, and they will be accepting donations at the park entrances.
Nobleton Victoria Day is presented in partnership between the Nobleton Village Association and the Township of King.
