Construction begins on Nobleton Water Treatment Plan

A major milestone for Nobleton's water future – construction is now under way for York Region's new Nobleton Water Treatment Plant, marking the start of a significant investment in the community's water infrastructure.
Work includes building the new water treatment plant and incorporating iron and manganese removal technology, at the location of the current Nobleton Wells 5 & 6 facility at 12860 Highway 27 in Nobleton.
This important project will help ensure a reliable, high-quality drinking water supply for Nobleton's growing community. Supporting this work, York Region has invested $30.6 million through its 2026 ten-year capital plan for the construction of the new plant and upgrades to existing well facilities.
Earthworks has started and is expected to continue through December 2028. Work will occur Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
No water service disruptions are expected, and access to homes and businesses will remain open. Increased construction traffic, noise and dust may be noticeable in the area.
