By Carol Miller With the same determination shown by so many of our Red Wing Teams this year, the Schomberg midget reps recently captured the York-Simcoe AE championship. This final Series of the season had our Red Wings facing the Pickering Panthers. The players had to mentally prepare themselves for a very short, “Best 2 of 3” Round. The crucial Game 1 on Thursday, March 28 went in our favour, with a score of 7-3. Continuing with their solid play, Game 2 on Saturday night in Pickering belonged to our “Boys in Red.” Through precision passing and numerous individual efforts, Schomberg won decisively by a score of 10-4 and brought home the trophy! Many thanks to Coach Frank, assistant coach Randy and trainers Alex and Doug for guiding such a great group of young lads to this championship win. The midget team did themselves and Schomberg proud. Congratulations to all for such an outstanding season! |
