After three days of competition against 70 determined athletes from across Canada, Team Ontario brought home the hardware from the Canadian Interprovincial Equestrian Championships, which took place from Oct. 3-5 in Blainville, Quebec. Ontario took home second place in the overall standings and finished with a team silver in Show Jumping. Members of the Jumping team also brought home medals in individual competition. Nobleton's Sam Walker earned bronze in the junior individual show jumping. “There were some very strong riders at this year's event and Ontario's riders held their own,” said Dianne Graham, executive director of the Ontario Equestrian Federation. “This competition wasn't without its challenges, but our talented riders persevered. Each and every member of Team Ontario should be proud of what the team accomplished.” The Ontario Equestrian Federation would like to acknowledge its dedicated team coaches, which included Jumping coach Rick Bishop of Wellington, Ontario, reining coach Brenda Robson of Lowbanks, Ontario and Dressage coach and chef d'equipe Krista Pollack of Stouffville. Special thanks also goes to team sponsors MAAAX™ Equine Feed, Bucas, Picovs and Perry Transport for their commitment to Team Ontario. |
