Nobleton hosts its famous Victoria Day fair

By Mark Pavilons
Nobleton will welcome visitors from far and wide for one of the best Victoria Day weekend celebrations around.
The annual Victoria Day fair runs Sunday and Monday, May 18 and 19.
On Sundauy, visit the vendors and enjoy the midway rides.
On Monday, the day begins at 11 a.m. with the parade, which makes its way through the village along King Road and towards the community centre grounds with floats, marching bands, and teams of horses. Local emergency personnel and dignitaries will be on hand. Classic cars always turn some heads.
The fair will feature a midway, bouncy castles, and rides, as well as an appearance by Orangeville's own Powder Band to entertain visitors with rock and country music. Organizers promise “tons of food” and many vendors.
Food boths hail from local businesses and service clubs, including the Lions and Knights of Columbus.
The vendors will be selling a plethora of goods including clothing, both local and imported, hats, sunglasses, jewelry and stoneware. Don't miss the seasonal plants offered by the horticultural society, as well as face-painting for the little ones.
Finally, when the sun sets Nobleton Fire and Rescue will give the town the biggest fireworks display of the year.
It's heralded as the largest private fireworks show in Ontario. The firefighters rely on donations, and they will be accepting donations at the park entrances.
Nobleton Victoria Day is presented in partnership between the Nobleton Village Association and the Township of King. For more, visit http://nobletonvictoriaday.com/.
