Annual ASK Studio Tour this weekendThis year marks the 9th annual Art Society King Studio Tour, taking place next Saturday and Sunday April 26 and 27. This year, 28 artists and artist groups will be showcasing their work in and around the township. On the tour at 19 locations including private studios, the Schomberg Library and the King Township Museum, you will meet a wide variety of established local painters and photographers, but also a number of gifted artists who work in various other forms including wood, metal, leather as well as ceramics, jewelery, weaving and quilting. Just at a time when we welcome a reason to get out of the house now that spring is finally starting to unfold, the studio tour provides a great opportunity to take a drive in the countryside and meet and talk with a wide variety of local talented artists about their work. The artists will be eagerly awaiting your visit between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. both weekend days, so watch for your Studio Tour brochure and map in your mailbox this week or you can access it online at ArtsSocietyKing.ca. Taking part this year are: Evangeline Munns (fine art), Kingcrafts Studios (arts and crafts), Grazyna Tonkiel (fine art), Louise Garin (fine art), Darlene Winfield (fine art), Judy Finch (fine art), Clare Ross (photography), Margit Sampogna (fine art), Andrea Loeppky (fine art, landscapes of King), Robert Brown (photography), George Holancin (sculpture), Brian Sinnott (leather), Tom Wray (photography), George Burt (wood turner), Pat Earle (fine art), Marianne Broome (fine art), Jennifer Peers (fine art), Bob Gwalchmai (wood), Holly Speers (ceramics), Dan Glassco (wood), Karen Hunter (jewellery), Helen Hermanns (fine art), Donna Greenstein (fine art), Karola Steinbrecher (fine art), Ida DeMaria (fine art), Mary Morganelli (fine art), Liina Peacock (fine art) and Ann Livingstone (fine art and quilts). |
