The NobleKing novice Knights #3 team can surely hold their heads up high and be proud of a tremendous team effort.
It may have not been the result they were hoping for, but it was not for a lack of effort.
The final game in the championship finals surely was the most exciting and gut-wrenching game of the season.
Trailing 4-3 with only 14 seconds to go in the game, the Knights got a well-timed, game-tying goal by defenceman Kieran Riley. Needless to say, the King City Arena erupted in cheers from the Knights' fans.
Other NobleKing goals in the game were scored by forwards Christian Carinci and Noah Gidaro.
In overtime, both teams definitely had their chances, but a scramble play in front of the Knights' net proved to be the difference.
The NobleKing novice Knights would like to congratulate the Thornton Tigers #2 team on being named the Simcoe Region Local League champions.
The trophies may say finalists, but the memories and friendships gained from this past year is what will drive the novice Knights to strive for even more success next season.
