Innisfil outguns NobleKing peeweesGoalie Carter Tahk was busy getting peppered with shots during the loss to Innisfil. Photo by Jeff Doner By Jeff Doner The NobleKing Knights peewee A squad had their sights set on collecting a big win over the Innisfil Winterhawks, but came up just short on Sunday. However, it was a hard-fought effort all around throughout the game that included a flurry of chances right up until the dying seconds of the third period. Innisifil started the game out with a two goal lead, but Knight Adam Valentini made it 2-1 on a goal assisted by Ben Brown at 2:24. Just over a minute later the Winterhawks extended their lead after a scramble in front of the net. The Knights pressed hard in the second period, but were unable to get the puck past Innisfil goalie Jake Cichon. After being stopped on a couple good chances, the Winterhawks turned things right back around on the Knights and made it 4-1 heading into the third. The Knights came out of the gate on fire, trying to make a comeback in the third period. The hard work paid off for Brown when he scored a nice goal just 20 seconds in to make it 4-2. However, the Winterhawks scored shortly after with a shot that would ricochet through traffic to beat Knights goalie Carter Tahk. The Knights again responded and created a flurry of chances in the Winterhawks zone, but time ran out on them and Innisfil walked away with a 6-2 win. |
