Girl’s honesty reassuring

On the day of the Schomberg Main Street Christmas, my daughter-in-law, who had come with her son and his friend as volunteers for this annual spectacular event, lost $60 in cash (three $20 dollar bills – you, know, the new slippery kind) as she was changing into her jester's costume to walk in the parade. But she only realized the loss a little while later. After looking in vain for the money on the street, and bemoaning the fact that she most likely would never see the money again – a tough thing for a single parent, especially at this time of the year – a little girl about 7 years old brought the money to the information desk, explaining as she did so that she'd found the money in the washroom. She and her mom refused any reward.
If the little girl and her mom are reading this, let it be known that we will never forget your honesty and kindness. You reaffirmed our belief in the basic goodness of people and we thank you from all of our hearts. And a special thanks to the parents who are raising such a kind-hearted and generous little girl.
Thanks again and Merry Christmas!
Nikki Hildebrand
