'Ghosts’ of King Township“People living on Hawman Avenue report that their houses shake when a heavy truck goes by on the King” (November 7 issue). I can very well understand! I live on Mill Road, approximately 220 metres off King Road. On my workshop wall I have two plaques which, six months ago, were vertical, but today sit about six to eight degrees off centre! Surely this is not the work of the “ghosts of King Township!” Maybe so, as they are regularly serenaded in our house by the sound of truck engine brakes as these many trucks descend the hill towards the 8th Concession! Written tongue in cheek, but with a message – living in the once peaceful surroundings of King Township! Dave Platt Mill Road |
