Table is set for a Mother's Day tea and concert “To Mom with love, High Tea & Concert” features King's own Diva in the Rough, Catherine Hughes. The special event will take place Saturday, May 11 at 1 p.m. at Laskay Hall on the site of the King Heritage and Cultural Centre. It's the perfect venue to celebrate mothers with a traditional high tea and entertaining show featuring live music, readings, skits and more. It all starts at 1 p.m. Guests can expect to dine on delicate sandwiches and desserts while sipping tea. Hughes will bring you a tailor made show of approximately 45 minutes to an hour. She will be accompanied by long-time partner Donald Guinn on piano. If you've never seen them perform, you're in for a treat. The duo have a musical chemistry and great off-the-cuff banter that is always a treat to watch. Hughes is thrilled to play once more in King Township and excited to be playing at the wonderfully revitalized Laskay Hall, located next to The King Heritage and Cultural Centre at 2920 King Road. Tickets are $25 in advance and include the High Tea. Seating is limited and reservations are highly recommended. You can email King Township at events@king.ca or call 905-833-6552. For those who insist on spontaneity and living dangerously, unsold tickets will be available at the door for $30.
