Community Events

Trees of Giving at Museum

Trees of Giving on now at the Museum. Community groups have let their creativity soar and have decorated trees in a variety of themes. The idea of the event is that visitors vote on their favourite tree by putting a loonie (or more) into the tin. Remember, each dollar = 1 vote. The tree with the most votes wins and all the proceeds go the King Township Food Bank! Groups participating include the King City Seniors, Schomberg Hort Society, King Historical Society and lots more! On at the museum until Dec. 17.

December Blood Clinic

Elaine St Pierre, the Territory Manager of Canadian Blood Services, asks us all to get out the next Blood Donor Clinic, in Schomberg, at the Trisan Centre on Tuesday, Dec. 20, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
This a very important clinic as there will be no clinic anywhere on Christmas Day, and blood is and will be very much in demand at this critical time of year.
Some new guidelines have been instituted which means many donors will not be able to give as often as before and now in Ontario alone, over 6,000 new blood donors are needed.
So pleased get out to the clinic on Dec. 20 and watch for Elaine and her team in the Santa Claus Parade, A Main Street Christmas, on Dec. 3 handing out cookies!
