Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division (HSD) Aurora Detachment are investigating a serious collision that occurred on Highway 400 northbound, north of King Road in King Township last week.
At approximately 11:28 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 24, a beige Toyota Corolla was traveling northbound on Highway 400 when for unknown reasons the 62- year-old male driver collided with another motor vehicle, possibly a tractor trailer. The Toyota sustained extensive damage and the lone male driver was transported to hospital with serious injuries. It is unknown what damage was caused to the motor vehicle that was struck as it did not remain at the scene of the collision.
Highway 400 was closed at King Road for several hours for the investigation.
The collision remains under investigation with the assistance of the OPP HSD Traffic Support Unit.  Police are asking that the driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision and anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact Provincial Constable Gemmell at the Aurora OPP Detachment at (905) 841-5777.
