Borcsoks retain titles at Royal

King Township’s “queen and king of the Royal” retained their crowns with many awards at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
The Borcsoks grow giant vegetables, and have set many records. They were tops in several categories again this year.
Joanne Borcsok took 1st in the red/violet beet root by weight and husband Karoly Borcsok took 3rd.
Karoly and Joanne were 1st and 2nd respectively in the carrot root by length.
Joanne and Karoly were 2nd and 3rd in the marrow by weight class. They were 1-2 in the parsnip root by length (minimum 24 inches). Karoly was 2nd and Joanne tied for 3rd in the parsnip root by weight.
Joanne and Karoly were 1 and 2 with sunflower head by diameter.
Joanne was all alone in 2nd for kohlrabi by weight. Joanne slipped in with a 2nd in any other giant vegetable or fruit.
Joanne and Karoly were 1st and 2nd in fodder beet by weight.
