Priestly Demolition wins 2016 World Demolition Award

King's own Priestly Demolition, has been recognized for their skills and expertise.
Priestly, along with 98 other companies from 19 different countries, competed for this year's prestigious award amongst the other designated awards.
The World Demolition Awards were held for the first time in the Americas in Miami, Florida on Oct. 14. Past events have been mainly held in Europe.
Priestly Demolition Inc. (PDI), a King-based firm, family owned and operated for over 40 years, submitted applications for 7 out of the 11 award categories. They shortlisted for 6 and won the Civils Demolition Award for their innovative Nipigon Bridge Project, and brought home the award of the night – The World Demolition Award.
The judges said, quite simply – “outstanding innovation - Priestly deserves this year's ‘best of the best.'”
The one-day event, which was organized by KHL Group and Demolition & Recycling International (D&Ri) magazine, in cooperation with the National Demolition Association (NDA), combined a top class conference with an awards dinner celebrating excellence in the industry.
“Going down to the awards as a first time entry into the Demolition Awards we didn't know what to expect. We were competing against the whole world in demolition projects including Japan, U.S., Australia, Italy, England, to name a few and their extensive projects. For the Nipigon Bridge project we submitted we were able to win over the judges with our innovative methods from safety to schedule no matter the weather winning us the Civils award. This was very exciting in itself, but to come out as the company that won the highest recognition of ‘World Demolition Award' was amazing. It takes teamwork to win such a prestigious award and that is the one thing that makes this company great,” said Ryan Priestly, PDI president.
