Honesty and integrity will take you a long way.
Just ask Kettleby’s  James Morning.
James Morning & Sons is marking its 46th anniversary in the bulk water, sand and gravel and haulage business. Jim and his late wife Audrey worked tirelessly serving customers throughout the GTA and beyond. The company has succeeded through its solid reputation over four decades.
Company patriarch James Morning said he had a dream back in 1970 of starting his own company. He began with a single truck delivering water in King on a part-time basis. It gradually grew into a full-time affair and Morning added sand and gravel and topsoil to his list of services.
In 1985, he took on his sons Drew and Grant as partners and the business continued to grow and succeed.
This time of year, the company’s small fleet of vehicles is busy delivering water for residential swimming pools, cisterns, wells and directional drilling companies. They work with a number of pool companies to get the water to the customer quickly and on time.
Clients get to enjoy a little bit of King, through that fresh, local water.
James Morning & Sons delivers water and sand and gravel. They stayed at it, building their business through word of mouth.
They benefit from a long list of repeat and loyal customers, Morning said. He noted he’s relied on his customer service over the years and being up front and honest with customers. “When a customer calls, I tell them whether can do it or not,” he said. If they can’t, they’ll find another supplier to fill the void.
There is some urgency in the pool business and customers want their needs meet right away.
Morning said they’ve also delivered water to local rural residents when their wells ran dry. They also brought water to local farms for their horses and livestock when the need arose.
Their success is due to their honest approach. Morning is well respected in the community, having served as a Township employee and King councillor for 20 years.
During his time in office, and in business, he’s learned to treat people well and respond to their needs.
His family is passionate about the business and all of them work hard to keep their customers satisfied.
The business is located on the Aurora-Lloydtown Road, just west of Kettleby.
