King Fire earns honour for outreach

King Fire and Emergency Services was selected as winners of a contest where U.S. and Canadian Dryer Vent Wizard franchisees nominated their local fire departments in recognition of Fire Prevention Month during October.  Winners were chosen based on exceptional educational outreach within their communities.
King Fire was nominated for this award by local Dryer Vent Wizard franchisee, Tyler Johnson. King was one of only two fire services in Canada to win. The other was located in British Columbia.
“I want to thank King Fire and Emergency Services for their hard work and commitment to provide quality fire prevention, education, and outreach programs to residents throughout your community. As first responders, your commitment and depth of service as a department is to be commended,” said Tyler Johnson. “If just one life is saved as a result of your fire prevention programs, then your selfless efforts have made a difference to the citizens of King. As a company whose priority is keeping people safe in their homes and preventing dryer fires, your efforts truly embody and align with our own. We hope this grant will help you continue to educate and help the people of King in your drive to prevent fires and provide much needed services and programs.”
The award is valued at roughly $680.
On hand to accept the cheque were (above) Deputy James Arnold, Tyler Johnson (Dryer Vent Wizard in York Region), Public Educator/Inspector Shelley Langer and Fire Chief Jim Wall.
