One of the most familiar faces in and around Schomberg marked a huge milestone recently.
Members of the community and fellow employees at Rona in Schomberg took time out to recognize Allen Cober on reaching his 65th work anniversary.
There have been some great changes along the way, but Cober admitted the time has “rolled along too fast.”
He said he’s enjoyed his co-workers and meeting customers over the decades. “It’s why I still come in at my age,” he said.
Cober started working at 15 and remembers when the property was Cashway and prior to that a manufacturing facility.
Rona manager Cheryl Collings noted she’s been at the store for 27 years. She began working for Allen as a teenager, and he’s working for her.
He’s definitely one of the reasons why long-term customers have remained loyal.
