Heritage homes to be protected

The question of putting historic houses and other structures in King Township on the Ontario Heritage Registry has certainly become a controversial topic in recent months.  Heritage features tell our story and help us to understand where we have come from.
King Township clearly has a rich heritage which is evident in many structures and other heritage features found throughout the Township.
I'm writing to commend the New Scotland Group for their welcomed support of the Township's interest in proceeding with the heritage designation process for their two properties at 2169 and 2175 King Road in the core area of King City.
The two heritage homes on King Road, which have thoughtfully been retrofitted for business use, are excellent examples of King's past and continue to contribute to a sense of place that is rooted in history. Both structures are well designed and feature numerous architectural details well worth preserving as part of King's heritage.
It's encouraging to see the partnership between property owners and King Township in working together to preserve excellent examples of King's heritage.  Thank you to the Heritage Advisory Committee, New Scotland Group and to King Township!
