BMO is gala’s inaugural diamond sponsor King City's BMO is supporting the King Township Food Bank as a diamond sponsor for their 2nd annual Sip & Savour gala Oct. 15. Branch manager Margarida Ramos D'Alfonsi presented the cheque to Carol Ann Trabert and Margaret Hastings of the Food Bank. By Mark Pavilons BMO is all about building relationships. As the King City branch gets ready to mark its first anniversary, it has embraced this community. BMO is the inaugural diamond and auction sponsor for the King Township Food Bank's 2nd annual fundraising gala, Sip & Savour. The event, with the theme “Hooray for Hollywood,” takes place Oct. 15 at Nobleton Lakes Golf Club. And with community partners like BMO, the event promises to be a huge success. BMO is also providing financial services for the evening's auctions, setting up a Moneris system to handle debit and credit transactions. This makes it easier for the buyers to walk away with their newfound treasures. Branch Manager Margarida Ramos D'Alfonsi said they want to be hands-on participants because they “like to make a difference.” BMO has a large corporate giving program and Ramos D'Alfonsi loves helping the smaller initiatives, where support can go a long way. “These are things that make us stand out,” she said. Their local support extends across King Township and includes the Holland Marsh Soupfest, King City Craft Beer Festival and Arts Society King. “We're excited to be such a big part of the community,” Ramos D'Alfonsi said. She noted their first year in King has been very successful. And she's quick to point out it's not always about the bottom line, but rather it's about the people they connect with on a daily basis. It's about building relationships and building trust. The branch is holding a first anniversary party Oct. 28, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. that includes food and wine tasting.
