The King community will get a nice shot in the arm, thanks to proceeds from the Mayor’s Annual Golf Tournament.
This year’s event, with a theme “Disco Inferno 70s” was once again sold out, and generated a whopping $84,000. It was held July 15 at the Cardinal Golf Club.
“I’m really proud that this money stays in King,” said Mayor Steve Pellegrini.
He noted some of this money is going to send local youngsters with special needs to summer camp. Another beneficiary of this money will be the Township’s quest to secure an astro turf playing field.
Helping to make the event a success were the many sponsors who pitched in. They were:
Zancor Homes, Country Wide Homes, Elite Construction Inc., Clearway Construction Inc., Signature Communities/Elite Construction Inc., Remington Group, Coppa’s Fresh Market, York Energy Centre, Tribute Communities, North Rock Group, Trisan Construction, Schickendanz Bros. Ltd., Joseph Kreiner Real Estate Ltd., FMP Mortgage Investments Inc., King Automotive Repair Service.
Township staff worked hard to organize and assist golfers on the day of the tournament. Local councillors were in the groove, sporting some nifty outfits.
