The Roots Wake Series made their first stop of the season at Spray Lake in King over the weekend, hosting the best wakeboarders and wakeskaters Ontario has to offer.
A few hundred spectators and competitors took in the sunny weather on Saturday to enjoy some music, food, and a good day on the water.
“The event was a huge success,” said Adam Noyek, one of the founding partners at Spray Lake. “Great weather, good competitors.”
Open to all ages, there was a mixed bag of tricks on the rail in the main park, with medals going out to winners in 14 different categories.
The Ranch, Spray Lake’s premiere cable wakepark, played host to the wakeskate competition, with Spray Lake’s Braden Loi taking the prize for best trick.
With the summer finally here, Noyek said it’s now “business as usual” at the lake.
“We have no other major events planned right now, but we will be very busy with all sorts of people all summer!”
