Prohibit severances in established subdivisions

Regarding the letter by Councillor Cleve Mortelliti in the April 6 issue of the King Weekly Sentinel.
We commend him for his strong stance to prohibit severances in the older mature subdivisions of King City so that the distinctive character of King City will be protected. This is precisely what citizens look for in their elected officials: the courage to stand up for their convictions.
Many of us have purchased properties in these established subdivisions because of their lot sizes and are fearful of what the future may bring.
With our busy lives some of us can fall prey to opportunists who with slight bending of bylaws can lead us down the slippery slope to destroying neighbourhoods. Prohibiting severances is the only answer.
