The Headwaters Equine Leadership Group is welcoming visitors with a novel idea – the “Headwaters Parade of Horses,” a whimsical and unique series of outdoor horse sculptures featuring fiberglass horses transformed through the creativity of talented artisans.  The Parade of Horses statues will be displayed throughout the Headwaters Region during the 2015 Games. The group is looking for artists to bring these magnificent sculptures to life. Consideration for this program is open to all artists (individual or groups) and the deadline for submissions is 11:55 p.m. on Monday, April 6. Those interested can visit HeadwatersHorseCountry.ca for program criteria and to register for consideration as a Headwaters Parade of Horses artist. So far, King will have a team of four horses temporary displayed at prominent locations throughout the Township for the months of June, July and August.  It is quite possible that one or more will find a permanent home in King and may become permanent public art installations. It is not limited to painters only – there are some other creative mediums being proposed for application on these horses, including tattoo artists, car detailers, etc. A sample horse statue will be on display at the Can-Am All-Breed Equine Expo at the Markham Fairgrounds, April 3-5. Artists must commit to completing their artwork on the statues during the following dates and hours at the following location.  The statues cannot be removed from the site. Location:  Caledon Equestrian Park in Palgrave. May 2-17, artists will have access to their statue during Caledon Equestrian Park's business hours. June 1 to Aug. 31, statues will be installed and displayed at their temporary locations for the Pan American Games. September 1-30, statues will be paired with their buyers and moved to their final installations. --------------------------------------------------- Images: --------------------------------------------------- Excerpt: King will be home to several horse statues this summer, and local artists are encouraged to jump on the bandwagon and lend a hand. --------------------------------------------------- Post date: 2015-03-27 12:22:49 Post date GMT: 2015-03-27 16:22:49 Post modified date: 2015-04-08 09:39:17 Post modified date GMT: 2015-04-08 13:39:17 ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Export of Post and Page as text file has been powered by [ Universal Post Manager ] plugin from www.gconverters.com
