The holiday season kicks off Saturday evening, bringing cheer to King City.
Christmas in King City, hosted by the King City Business and Community Association (KCBCA) in partnership with King Township, arrives this Saturday evening.
It runs 5 to 8 p.m. and Keele Street will be closed to traffic.
On tap will be music, jugglers, an ice carver and entertainers on the stage and on the street. Santa himself will be there to have free photos taken with youngsters.
Local businesses will be open, selling their goods. There will be plenty to eat at local establishments and from food trucks.
There is a formal tree lighting event at the newly renovated four corners parkette next to Hogan’s Inn. Local dignitaries will be on hand for the ceremony.
Residents are encouraged to come out and stroll the village, helping to usher in the yuletide season. The event is intended to showcase what the local businesses and community have to offer, through a variety of great activities. Stop by for some hot chocolate, caroling, take a picture for Santa or pick up a special Christmas gift from some of King’s one of a kind shops.
Visitors are also encouraged to stop by the King City fire department truck and drop off new unwrapped toys, or canned goods for the food drive.
