Everything pumpkin at King City Farmers’ Market finale

October 1, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Join organizers this Sunday, Oct. 5 for the final King City Farmers’ Market of the season where they will  be celebrating “Everything Pumpkin” in conjunction with the York Region Pumpkin Pie Trail.
Held at All Saints Church in King City, the market will be offering samples of two very different kinds of pumpkin soup – a hearty harvest vegetable soup as well as curried pumpkin and apple soup.
On the sweet side, come by to taste the ever popular spiced pumpkin loaf with cream cheese icing.  Recipe sheets will be available and if you have a culinary question, the markets’ resident chefs just may have the answer!
Organizers would like to thank everyone who participated in making this market year such a success. A big thank you to the vendors who always showed up, rain or shine and to everyone who realizes the importance of shopping locally and supporting community events by being loyal patrons of the market.
“We look forward to many years of being a part of this community and seeing the market grow,” said market manager Janet Rodger.
The market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. rain or shine.
The final event for this season will be the Field to Table Community Dinner on Sunday, Oct. 19, from 5 ti 10 p.m. Tickets are $20 each and you can purchase them at the market. This dinner sold out quickly last year, so don’t delay!
