King’s mayor constantly reminds us how important partnerships are in ensuring that King ticks along smoothly.
In this era of municipal frugality, leveraging every possible relationship with community groups is not only recommended, but necessary. It’s a win-win scenario, since it fosters a great sense of community engagement, saves costs and gets things accomplished.
The King Chamber of Commerce held its AGM and Excellence in Business Awards Friday night, to recognize the efforts of its members.
The King Weekly Sentinel was recognized as being the annual sponsor of the People’s Choice Award. For 2013, the winner was Cardinal Golf Course.
A “Chamber Special Recognition” Award – the first of its kind –was given to Mark Pavilons, editor of the King Weekly Sentinel. It was given to him for his support of the Chamber and feature stories promoting King business, large and small.
Pavilons noted the Chamber awards are much more than mere “trophies.” They’re a thank-you for making the commitment and investment in King.
It’s all about people. And that’s our business. Pavilons said he’s met many interesting and dedicated business owners with some great stories to tell.
Success is really about partnerships. We’re all working toward the same ultimate goals. And the King Weekly Sentinel is happy to be a media partner.
