Time to reflect and count our blessings

Mayor’s Message

Steve Pellegrini

It’s that time of year to reflect on how fortunate we are and to share time with friends and family.
I believe I am one of the most fortunate individuals, with a loving family, and the honour to represent the greatest community. Our Township is more than the picturesque rolling hills; it’s the people who truly make King beautiful.

King Holiday Events

Please come out and share in the holiday spirit at the many events in King. There is the King City Christmas on Nov. 30 at the four corners of King City from 5 to 8 p.m. and then on Dec. 1, the Nobleton Village Association will be doing their annual tree lighting at the Gazebo at 5:30 p.m. The much anticipated Schomberg Main Street Christmas takes place Dec. 7 from 3 to 9 p.m. Come and see the “Farmers’ Parade of Lights” and jolly old St. Nick, too.
The Christmas season, more so than ever, is reason to consider others.
There are people in King Township who struggle to make ends meet. Consider asking those who normally give you a gift to instead give a cheque in your name to an organization that endeavours to improve the lives of others.
In your own neighbourhood it can be the King Township Food Bank or the Nobleton Christmas Drive, now in its 18th season.
Last year we introduced the YRT bus Route 61 to connect all our villages and residents and to provide a means to access the greater transit network and to alleviate the major parking issue with the King City GO station.
It is absolutely crucial that this service is well used or the route will be discontinued!
As always, I encourage you to get involved in our community, come out and participate in the shaping of King’s future, and don’t forget to shop local. For more details on services and other news in the Township, please go to our website www.king.ca.
Merry Christmas from my family to yours!
