The enthusiastic and energetic staff at the Nobleton Post Office put their people skills to good use recently.
The employees have been raising money to support the Canada Post Community Foundation. They're among the top five post offices in the country so far in this year's fundraising campaign and have raised more than $3,500 for the foundation.
Their fundraising included a raffle for donated prizes and a 50-50 draw.
Joining Postmaster Darlene MacIver were Barb Pricop-Post, area manager, and Stanley Eng, supervisor, in making the draws Friday afternoon.
The winner of the 50-50 draw earned a Nobleton man $815. They also made draws for more than two dozen prizes, ranging from art to jewelry.
“They've outdone themselves,” said Pricop-Post.
“We're a small community with a big heart,” MacIver observed.
Along with the draws, staff extended their thanks to residents with a customer appreciation day. Residents enjoyed cake and coffee. The customer appreciation event was their way of saying thanks to their fantastic customers.
