And King City's newest RBC Royal Bank “retail store,” is a fine example of the modern marriage of technology and tailor-made financial products. The eight-person staff were hand-picked to launch the new branch, according to Rosa Ferreri, manager client care. There are no dedicated offices in this open, welcoming atmosphere. The offices merely say “Maple” or “Poplar.” Technology is the driving force today, and it's reflected in the user-friendly branch. According to Retail Banker International, 47% of customers prefer to bank online, and the number of mobile banking users will triple between now and 2016. At RBC King City, customers can interact with staff or tellers, or use one of the many interactive touch screen computers for information or online banking. It's a journey of self-discovery, learning about all the products RBC has to offer. The warm earth tone decor offers an area for live broadcasts of tutorials, an open office for customers to use, as well as free wi fi for those wishing to get out the laptop or mobile device and explore their options. The use of technology is growing in society and RBC is reflecting that in the way it delivers it services. They are also giving advice more than they are selling products or services. The key to meeting a client's needs today is really tailoring the right products to suit their needs. Staff and “partners” combine their efforts to offer clients small business services, mortgages and investment opportunities. “Give us a chance and see what we have to offer,” she said. Ferreri admitted they're on a bit of learning curve, but they're adaptive, taking the lead with their innovative approach to banking. RBC has also earned industry accolades, being named best retail bank for two years in a row by Retail Banker International. Since they opened their doors this past April 29, they've been going out into the community and meeting residents. “We want to be part of the community,” she said, adding they offer educational programs in schools and sponsor a local hockey team. The branch will hold its official grand opening Saturday, Nov. 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The public is invited to check them out and meet Leo the Lion as well as three-time Olympic gold medallist, Becky Kellar-Duke of Canada's women's hockey team. Mayor Steve Pellegrini will be on hand to cut the ribbon at 11 a.m. With banking evolving rapidly, it's important to get the right advice. “Banking has changed so much,” Ferreri said. “It has taught me so much in life. I believe in RBC.” From looking after your children's future to amalgamating debt, you can find the answers at RBC's retail outlets. With that in mind, branch manager Raffaele Innocente, Ferreri and their team want to share their knowledge and expertise with RBC customers. The King City branch is open weekdays, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday and Friday nights until 8 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Give them a call at 905-833-8500. --------------------------------------------------- Images: --------------------------------------------------- Excerpt: Banking has changed a great deal over the last decade and today, there are many convenient options to find the right product and service you’re looking for.
