Stolen vehicles located in King, charges laid

Two Bradford men are facing several charges after stolen vehicles were found on a King Township property.
York Regional Police report they began their investigation after recent spikes in thefts of Honda and Toyota vehicles throughout the region. Through the course of the investigation, two suspects were identified.
On May 22, members of the York Regional Police Auto Cargo Theft Unit, with the assistance of #4 District Criminal Investigation Bureau, #2 District Criminal Investigation Bureau and South Simcoe Police, executed a search warrant on a business located at 20100 Bathurst Street, in the Township of King. The shop was being run out of a rented unit on a barn on the property.
As a result of the search, six stolen vehicles were recovered, two trailers, as well as parts from four other stolen vehicles, for a total value of approximately $150,000.
Two individuals were located on the property and were arrested and charged with theft over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and altering a VIN.
The investigation is ongoing and officers are asking anyone with information to come forward.
