Juvenile Rebellion heading back to OMHA finals
Spring hockey has become a yearly tradition for King’s Juvenile hockey squad. Raising a banner into the rafters of Schomberg’s Trisan Centre every year since 2014, the Juvenile Rebellion will once again vie for the OMHA championship title, after eliminating the New Hamburg Huskies in five games.
Pop Cherry electrifies rock fans, new and old
Neil Young predicted that rock and roll will never die. And Elvis said if you really feel rock and roll music, you can’t help but move to it. Thanks to passionate performers like Toronto’s Pop Cherry, classic rock is burning bright with fans.
Star-studded St. Patrick’s Day performance in King
There’s a little bit of Irish in all of us, especially on St. Patrick’s Day. Guests will become fully immersed in all things Irish during the first “Lilt, Laughter and Song,” at the King Museum on March 17. Featuring a star-studded cast of performers, under the direction of King’s own Diva in the Rough Catherine Hughes, this St. Patrick’s Day celebration will thoroughly entertain visitors with a unique blend of drama, history, humour, music and song.
Work on Laskay Hall progressing
The relocated Laskay Hall will join the King Museum in becoming focal points for the community. Laskay Hall arrived at its new home at the King Heritage and Cultural Centre last August. Staff have worked hard to prepare the site, but there have been complications along the way.

King councillors received details of the King City North East Functional Servicing/Development Area Study (FSDAS), a comprehensive plan (template) to bring cohesiveness to a massive tract of land involving six property owners.
Community loses one of its cornerstones, Paul Olsen
The King community is mourning the loss of one of its biggest supporters. Paul Olsen, volunteer and founder of Brookdale Treeland Nursery, passed away suddenly March 3 at home. He was just shy of his 74th birthday.
Heart-felt support during February campaign
The “month of kindness” was a huge success for the “We Believe in Abby” team. The group partnered with four local cafes – Sugar and Spice, Layered, The Roost and Sweet Bottoms. The shops had hosted pay it forward boards that quickly became full of cards of people purchasing coffees and treats for people in their community.
